Zara's Circular Economy Suitability Is Among the Weakest on the Market
As a result of thorough consideration based on sales data, we have decided to stop selling Zara-branded products on Emmy.
Using our database of over a million products, we have analyzed the second-hand market for the largest clothing brands. This analysis revealed that the extremely low market prices of Zara products combined with high return rates create a harmful combination for both Emmy’s customers and our business.

The ultimate purpose of the second-hand business is to build a world where products have the longest possible life and can easily find a new owner. For the market to function, customers selling their unneeded clothes must receive compensation for their products. None of this is realized with Zara products.
Emmy is Finland’s largest second-hand operator for branded clothing, and with our operations, we want to support brands that manufacture long-lasting products. That’s why we regularly review the circular economy suitability of products.
Up until now, products accepted for sale have been sold within 6 months, but starting from the beginning of May, we will no longer accept Zara products for sale on Emmy.

Selling Zara Products on Emmy During the Transition Period
Products accepted for sale by 30 April 2024 will be sold within 6 months, but starting from 1 May, we will no longer accept Zara products for sale. If you have filled out a sales shipment form before 1 May and your batch includes Zara-branded products, these will still be accepted for sale. In the future, Zara-branded products will be handled like other brands that are not on Emmy’s brand list.
